Basketball Training Overview:
1. Fundamentals
We will emphasize the essential skills every player needs and will be done at the beginning of each session. The fundamentals will change and differentiate depending on what skill is being trained that session.
Ball handling: Dribbling with both hands and keeping your head up
Passing: Mastering different types of passes
Shooting: Learning the key points of a jump shot and practicing layups with both hands
Defense: Understanding the importance of defense and how to apply it effectively
2. Basketball Drills
We will run various basketball "workshops" where we will focus on specific skills at different stations. Athletes will work on a variety of drills-both offensive and defensive-helping them grow and compete in a controlled environment. These will connected to the fundamentals taught.
3. Conditioning
Ending basketball training with conditioning helps improve overall endurance, ensuring players maintain energy throughout the game. It builds stamina, making it easier to perform at a high level during intense moments. Conditioning strengthens muscles and improves recovery times, reducing the risk of injury. It enhances mental toughness, helping players push through fatigue. Finally, it reinforces the importance of finishing strong, translating to better performance in real-game situations.
What Your Athlete Needs
To participate, athletes will need basketball shoes and comfortable athletic clothing. That's it!
We’re excited to work with your athlete, and we look forward to seeing them grow and have fun in the process!
Football Team Overview
Fundamentals:
Our youth athlete training sessions will focus on developing key football fundamentals, specifically for Defensive Backs (DB) and Wide Receivers (WR). Each session will begin with teaching the basics for both positions, including proper alignment, where to line up depending on play scenarios, and the correct technique for catching the ball from both sides. Athletes will also learn all the routes in football and how to execute them properly. For DBs, we’ll cover different coverage responsibilities, as well as backpedaling and tackling techniques.
Drills:
Once the fundamentals are established, we’ll move on to football drills. Our training will include "workshops," where athletes will rotate through offense and defense drills. This allows them to build a well-rounded skill set while practicing in a structured, competitive, and supportive environment. This approach ensures athletes get hands-on experience in both positions, reinforcing their learning and teamwork.
